- [Instructor] In this video, we are going to talk about how you can optimize the cost associated with Azure VMware Solution. As we have talked about previously, the minimum size of an AVS cluster includes three host machines. These machines are not your regular Azure virtual machines. These machines are dedicated bare metal machines which means they can be quite expensive. So how can you optimize the cost? You can optimize the cost using something called the reserved instances, and the idea is rarely simple. You are committing to using a reserved instance for one or three years, and in return, Microsoft is able to offer you a discount. The reservation discounts are automatically applied. Once you've purchased these reserved instances, they're automatically applied within your subscription.
