- [Instructor] Groups and layers are foundational to modeling in Autodesk Formit. Grouping different objects prevent their geometry from joining. And copies of a group act as an instance of the original geometry. Layers, on the other hand, allow you to manage the visibility of objects in a Formit model. In this video, we'll create groups and layers to manage a building mass for future analysis. So to start open exercise file groups and layers in the chapter two folder or the Formit model you created in the previous video. So from the find menu here, click open sketch locally then navigate to the location of the size file and select groups and layers in the chapter two folder and open it. First turn off the terrain layer from the layers panel here and switch to top view. And make sure you are in orthogonal mode. Using the line to trace over the outline of the ground floor plan to form a surface like we did earlier.…
