- Autodesk Formit has built-in environmental analysis tools to understand even your earlier design studies. Solar analysis lets you quickly create a heat map of solar exposure for selected surfaces in your Formit model. And in this video I'll show you how to perform a solar analysis in Formit, but please note the following. First, solar analysis is only available with a Formit Pro license just like energy analysis in Formit. So you will not have access to this feature if you're on Formit Web. Secondly, you'll need an internet connection to use this feature. And thirdly, to run a solar analysis, you must set the project location. Recall we have already done this earlier in the course. So to start, open the Formit model you created in Chapter 2, or you can just use the file Formit Solar Analysis found in the Chapter 6 Exercise Files folder.
