- Once you identify the kind of job you want, it's a lot easier to figure out what additional skills and training you might need. This could be as simple as reading books and taking a few online courses, like the ones we have at LinkedIn Learning. A few that I'd recommend are "Purchasing Foundations" and "Logistics Foundations" from Steven Brown, and my course, "Implementing Supply Chain Management." Or you might decide to pursue a certification program or even a university degree. There are a lot of them to choose from, so find the jobs that look most interesting to you and see which degrees or certifications they're looking for. If you want to get some really advanced training, MIT has an online MicroMasters program in supply chain management.
