(upbeat orchestral music) - [Interviewer] Charles grew up in Connecticut and as he called it, in the land of Martha Stewart. Fun fact, he called it that because one of her shows were filmed there. Growing up, he was interested in street, art, skateboarding, breakdancing, and all the forms of music that aligned with those interests, like punk, hip hop, and electronic music. He was also very interested in outdoors, cycling, and he was an Eagle scout. So, he was already a pretty amazing mashup that was also into computers. He attended Purdue University, and while there, had early access to the internet, because of Purdue's state funding and connection to the department of defense. He decided to drop out, but did work with some design agencies and created several side projects where he developed sites for musicians that shared music, art, and brought people together, really before that was even a thing. -…
