- [Narrator] So in migrating to the cloud, it's important that you understand your options for the target platform such as public clouds, private clouds, hybrid clouds and multi-clouds. And the differences that each provides. So keep in mind that a public cloud is something that you don't run. It's run by other people outside of the enterprise. It provides the ability to scale at will because it has virtually unlimited resources. At least unlimited for your capacity. In other words, if you need a thousand servers to scale a thousand servers or a particular application, then they have them. But ultimately you don't own the hardware, you don't own the software, you don't own the data center. This is something that somebody else runs for you.
