Creating local variables

Creating local variables

- [Instructor] Before we're able to make use of any variables within a Figma design file, we must first create them within the design workspace. A fresh Figma document will not include any variable definitions until you enter into the local variables dialog and begin creating them. You can find local variables in the design workspace along the side here. When you initially open the dialog, it will prompt you to create a variable since you won't have any to start with. The first variable I create is going to be a number variable for the cart total. As you can see, there are four variable types that you can define inside of a Figma design file. Color allows you to define color variables, which can be applied to different design elements. Number variables, which we'll make extensive use of in this course. Hold numeric values for calculations on design elements, but also for output into text. String variables, hold strings, so text characters. And Boolean variables, which we'll also make…
