Reviewing a task flow diagram
- [Instructor] The odds are pretty good that task flows will be circulated to the team at some point. What you need to do is to put yourself in Laura's shoes and ask, "Does this make her life easier?" What you don't do is ask, "Would this make my life easier?" You don't count. Instead, walk through this chart using a story like this. Laura is asked to log in as either a registered user or as a new user. If she is a new user, she needs to register as one, enter a username, create a password and confirm that password. If the confirmation password is incorrect, she has to reenter it until she gets it right. If she is already registered, Laura enters her username and password. And if they are correct, she moves on. If they aren't, she will need to reenter the correct username and password until she gets it right. Now, this kicks out a couple of obvious logic errors and the comments are now starting to fly in.
