- How many times have you frozen up when someone asks you the question what do you do? It's one of the most common questions we get asked, and so many of us hate to answer it, but when someone asks you what you do, it's an incredible gift. They're giving you the perfect opportunity to talk about the work that you love to do, and you never know if they may need someone like you to help them or know someone else who does. So if we're constantly given this perfect opportunity to help us find more clients, we should get really good at answering this question. The best way to answer this is to keep it very simple, and use the framework I help X do Y. In my case, I help freelancers make more money. Maybe you're a freelance audio engineer. You can use this framework to say I help people create high-quality podcasts, or I help podcasters sound better. The key elements here are that you tell us who you help and how you help them.
