Define the conditions of a thermal analysis
- [Instructor] For the next analysis, we'll do another type of assembly. For this study, we'll be exploring how well the series of copper heated strips will keep a motorcycle grip warm in cold temperatures. Switching to Simulation, we'll use a thermal simulation type. We'll create the new study, and then let's go through the process. Again, reviewing the materials, we see that the grip is made of nitrile rubber, and all of the heating strips are made of copper. For loads, the loads are approached a little differently. Instead of being physical loads, they'll be thermal loads. We'll also use our component visibility to make it easier for selection. We'll turn off the grip, which is component one, and use the object type of bodies to place an applied temperature. We'll select the eight grip heater bodies and set the temperature to 130 degrees.
