What is unsupervised learning?

- [Student] What would unsupervised learning be? - [Instructor] Unsupervised learning is a class of algorithms. Where you're trying to find patterns in the data. For example, the classical problem in unsupervised learning is clustering. So you find clusters in your data and you try to figure out that, oh, what is this cluster? Right? For example, you could find, let's say, you have a data of housing prices. - [Student] Sure - [Instructor] Right? - [Student] Yeah. - [Instructor] And you did not know anything about it. You basically put in all the data right inside it. Which would have information about how many rooms are there. What's the you know.... - [Student] Square footage. - [Instructor] Square footage, et cetera. - [Student] Does it have a pool? Whatever. - [Instructor] And then you may find clusters houses that have more rooms are also more expensive, right? So you find clusters like this. So that…
