- [Instructor] When you start using YouTube to create an additional revenue stream, it's important to manage your expectations for what you're going to get out of YouTube. In general, you can expect to make about two to $20 per thousand views on YouTube. This ratio is known as RPM or revenue per thousand. So if your channel receives 20,000 views a month, you could expect to earn about $40 a month on the low end of the scale or about $400 a month on the upper end of the scale. Obviously, there's a big difference between those amounts. So let's talk about some important factors in how they can affect your YouTube revenue.
