This presentation is a great outline of how to assess one's business model before going into a new market (foreign or domestic). As an American developing business for US companies in EMEA, I am a personal fan of local presence, either direct or through channel partners. I would have liked to have seen more detailed coverage on this. Also helpful is the US Department of Commerce "Gold Key Service", an excellent way for US companies to enter new foreign markets.
