Working with layers

- Working with layers in AutoCAD is a necessity. Being able to manage those layers quickly, and efficiently, is very important to our workflow. Over in the layers pallet, there are four sections of each layer that we can interact with. Here, I can change the color of a layer, next I can turn the layer on or off to hide its visibility. Note, you cannot turn the current layer off, unlike desktop AutoCAD. I can click the lock to prevent me from making any changes to any objects on that layer. And if I click out here in the space, I can actually set the current layer. If I right click, I have the option of renaming or deleting a layer. Just like desktop AutoCAD, I cannot delete a layer that contains any objects, or is the current layer. Down here, I can click the plus and create new layers. Just above the layers pallet is a small properties pallet. This is a very simplified version of the AutoCAD properties pallet, but it still allows us to control things like line weight, and line type…
