From the course: Learning Confluence Administration

Who is this course for?

- [Instructor] This course helps Confluence administrators, leaders, and power users set up the application, assist end users with common data creation tasks, and create an information management strategy for the organization. Now, for most of us, the days of tripping over cables in a server room are over. Instead, many applications are moving to a software as a service delivery model, and subscription based licensing. Therefore, this course doesn't cover software installation, server administration, or upgrades, as those tasks are automatically performed in cloud software. I will address the material differences between cloud, server, and data center deployment types however. If the different deployment types are new to you, that's just fine, we'll figure out what you have, and explore the differences shortly. In this course, I'll mainly show examples from the Confluence cloud deployment type, like in the screenshot. But don't worry, in most cases, the concepts are the same regardless of the deployment type. Just be aware that there are slight feature, terminology, and user interface differences between the types. Also, it's all right if your application looks different than my examples. You might have different colors, a different layout, and customizations specific to your company. If your organization has additional Atlassian tools like Jira and Bitbucket, I invite you to also take my planning and releasing software with Jira course. This course shows how to use Confluence and Jira together for requirements management, project planning, retrospectives, and to support the software development life cycle. Additionally, many Confluence users and admins are also Jira users and admins. If your organization uses Jira, don't miss my other LinkedIn learning courses for that application.
