- So why is it so important to create SCORM compliant e-learning courses? Well, let me start by saying, it's not. If you're not planning to upload your courses to a SCORM compliant LMS, that is. You can create all the e-learning courses you like, and leave them on your computer, or burn them to a disc, or even stick them on a network where others can access them. But, if you are planning to upload your courses to an LMS, a learning management system, that's when it might be important to ensure they are SCORM compliant. SCORM compliant e-learning content can be reused in a variety of systems and frameworks. Which means organizations involved in the creation of e-learning can easily change LMS vendors without having to rewrite expensive custom interfaces.
