Creator profile setup

- So now we're going to dive into building your LinkedIn profile. And most people when they hop on LinkedIn, they fill out the general and generic information that they're told to. You know, it's like, "Hey, I got to fill this out." And then they just leave it at that. They never look at it again. And what I'm about to walk you through is why we need to take a look at that again, in order to really build the brand and the reputation right across the board. So I like to call it the representation for your reputation. So let's get into that. There's four things that I'm going to talk about, when it comes to building your LinkedIn profile so you can stand out and build this personal brand that you came to this course for. So the first part is your headshot. Now, unless you're like a surfer or something like that and you need a surf photo, like I got, I get it. However, for the most part, please come prepared, please come with a professional photo across the board, right? We're not asking for photos of like you in the club, taking selfies, like all over the place, like, that's not going to work. So make sure you get a profile more preferably you are like smiling in that photo, so it's like it's a representation of you and people are like, "Okay, I want to go talk to that person." So like, that's like number one. Number two is we need to look at the About section. Now when most people have their About section, it's I work at this company, here are my skills, and that's it. Let's like rewrite that entire About section. So what you should do there is tell your journey, share it with other people. "Hey, I used to be in car sales and now I'm in tech sales and this is the journey that I took," right? Or, "Hey, I used to be at teacher and now I'm in marketing." Like people love to hear stories, right? So tell your story in your About section and don't keep it generic. Another thing that you can also do is say, "hey, like what do you do?" Like that's, I put that in my profile, and I tell people what I do. Then I say, "how can I help?" I put how I help and clients that I work with. So those are things that you can do to make your profile better. So you look great, you got a great About section, you've told your story, you saved your journey, the next step is we need to go to our testimonials. Most people's testimonials, probably like one, two, or maybe they've given a lot of testimonials and gotten none. So what I want you to do is go out with people you've worked with, clients that have enjoyed working with you, and put your testimonials inside of your LinkedIn profile so you can get some rolling so people know what you're about. I would recommend having at least 10 of those. Now the last part, I skipped it in order of the LinkedIn profile but we're going to pop back up there, is your headline, because it's the most critical aspect of your LinkedIn profile. When you have your headline, it's people could see it in your connection request, it's the first thing they see. It's the first thing they see in the comments, it's the first thing they see in the message. So with that headline that is there, you want to make sure that it represents who you're looking to serve and who you're helping. So it's not just, "Hey, I'm a sales rep." It's, "I help people with their cybersecurity. I help them with their marketing campaigns," whatever that may be, you need to express that in the headline 'cause that's one of the first things that people see besides your profile picture. Now, and me walking you through these steps the goal is for you to go after this course, this training, and go ahead and start filling out your profile. Now, what I will tell you though is don't stop there, update it consistently. I do it every single quarter when I go about that, right? So just think about it that way and you'll start seeing success. So the importance of all this is, build your profile so people are excited to connect with you, they understand your personality and you become more relatable.
