Dealing with haters

- All right. So everything is going really well. We got our profile built, we're connecting with people, we know when to post, we have themes around our post, we have a brand voice, right? We got supporters who really like us, and then you got your first negative comment. You have someone who negatively messaged you, and now you're like, "Wait, that's not what I expected. I thought everyone was going to love my content. I did all the steps, Morgan, like what's the deal?" Now we're facing haters. And honestly, the last video, I could've stopped this whole thing, and we could've been fired up, and I couldn't even mention this. However, when I first started creating content, I went through all these steps that I'm mentioned to right now. There's nothing that I didn't do that I'm not telling you right now, and I got my first haters, and I felt uncomfortable. It wasn't good. I was like, ugh, what? Just discouraged. Like, should I continue on? Is what they're saying real? And you start to doubt yourself. Should I have started my personal brand in the first place? Maybe I should have just stayed behind the scenes, and not built my digital footprint. However, this all comes with the territory. And no matter how nice you are. No matter how positive you are. No matter how much work you put into your content, there will always be a negative comment, and there will always be some type of hater. Now, what's really important though before I tell you how to deal with them, right? 'Cuz that's probably the next question. Like Morgan, okay. How do I do with these haters? You also have to realize that there's people that are constructive critics. These are people who are going to prod at you, and just ask you questions to see like do you actually know what you're talking about? I've had a ton of those throughout my career, and the cool thing is when you answer the questions the right way to show that you have knowledge on the subject. And again, because we went through what you need to be known for, you're going to be able to turn those constructive critics into possible supporters or even collaborators. There are people who have been constructive critics of me and I talk to them now on a normal basis, and we've collaborated on content. You just have to show, hey, this is what I know, and this is what I'm about. Now, let's go back to the haters, right? We got, I got some negative comments. We got some trolls, and it can be discouraging. And honestly, I wish someone would've told me this, hey, you're going to have haters when you start because that would've just pushed through. So this is how I navigated haters, and how you can do the same. So after stop, I stopped realizing being discouraged, right? Because when you think of a hater, at the end of the day, like you're like, whoa why are you even doing negative comments? Like what? I feel bad for them 'cuz like what are they doing throughout the day to give negative comments to you? So if anyone does that, you follow up and say, "Thanks for your comment." That's it. I give them no space to move forward. If they message me, "I say, thanks for the message." Appreciate it. And I move on. I give them no space or energy to any negative thing that they say. That's how you deal with the haters. They should inspire you to keep moving forward. And that's what I want this entire course to do for you. Is to be like, I'm inspired. I'm pumped up because now I'm able to build my personal brand whether it's full-time or part-time, and do it to empower your community. I always tell people when you start building your personal brand, it's all about impacting one person. One person. It's not the whole world. It all starts with one individual. And if your lifetime of content creation, if you impact just one person, you make the world a better place, and the haters should not stop you from accomplishing that mission. So my hope here is you feel so enlightened by what we talked about here, and empowered to move forward with confidence to start creating your own content here on LinkedIn, and building your brand. And if you have any further questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on LinkedIn, and I'm more than happy to talk to you. And if you got any haters, you can send them my way, and I can deal with it. Right? I got you. So much appreciation for everyone watching this course, and have a blessed rest of your day.
