- Something I'm hearing a lot more lately is that candidates are feeling ghosted by recruiters. So let's break down what that looks like. Maybe you've suddenly gotten an inbound inquiry from a recruiter and you've sent off all your information and then nothing, they never message you back. What gives, right? What's going on there? Well, I think it's important that I offer a little perspective here. So when recruiters do reach out to you proactively on LinkedIn, they're not doing it to just you. The reality is, is they've probably found 10 to 20 candidates that check all the boxes and they see who messages them back first and they start to have those conversations. Once they get to five or six candidates that are a fit that they know they can send off to the hiring manager, their job is done. They don't have to keep interviewing more people.
