Linear regression with a single variable

- If you want to know how a variable affects your sales, there's no more tried and tested tool than linear regression. It's even possible to build simple regression models in Google Sheets or Excel, which is what we're about to do. This is some example data from an ice cream store, and we might want to see how much more ice cream we sell when the weather is hot. So if we take the data that we need, in this case, we just need, you know, the week and the revenue, which we're going to make a copy here in order to select all of that I just did Control, Shift and Down. You could also do Command, Shift and Down if you're on a Mac, I'm just going to copy this and then paste it into a new sheet. Okay. And then we also need the temperature variable. So I'm going to grab that column as well. Okay, so now we're going to use the LINEST function. or linear estimator. We'll do equals LINEST, then we just need to give it the known data…
