- [Instructor] Within field service, we have the work order lifecycle. But before we jump into this exam objective, let's consider what field service is. In short, field service is any service that is performed at the customer site or out in the field, not at your company's facility. Examples include utilities. This could be a cable company. Or equipment maintenance. I always think about elevators when I think about equipment maintenance. Or manufacturing. Imagine a medical device company who's installed specialized pieces of equipment into hospitals and labs. All of those pieces of equipment will need to be serviced and maintained. Let's review the field service lifecycle. First, we have demand generated. Something has failed and a work order is generated. This is followed by schedule and dispatch.
