In fundraising, the pre-approach process will lower your anxiety as you seek out donors for your cause 'cause it focuses on preparation. In this lesson, I'll walk you through qualifying prospective donors, how to secure a face-to-face meeting, and how to start a conversation at that meeting. Before picking up the phone and requesting a meeting with a prospect, you need to apply the MADDEN test by asking these questions. Do they have the means to give? Are they approachable enough to get an appointment? Are they interested in or do they have a desire to learn about your cause? Are they the decision maker about philanthropic donations?
