Identifying the styles

- As a fundraiser, you have to see past certain distinctions when identifying the four social styles. This will allow you to better understand two basic attributes of behavior, assertiveness and responsiveness. The driver, expressive, amiable and analytical social types fall into a quadrant of assertiveness, nonassertive, responsive and unresponsive. Assertiveness represents the effort a person makes to influence or control the thoughts, or actions of others or a situation. The driver and expressive styles have high levels of assertiveness. These individuals tend to move and think quickly, and are active, risk takers, verbal, directive and competitive. Amiable and analytical social styles tend to be nonassertive. These individuals are risk-averse, slow acting, non-verbal, cooperative and inquisitive. Responsiveness is the willingness with which a person outwardly shares feelings, or emotions and develops…
