Welcome friends to the Oracle University module on Implementing Data Integration Mapping. I'm your host, Desiree, and let's get started. In this module, I'm going to show you what mapping is, its deployment specifications, followed by how to create mapping and mapping components. Mapping is an ODI object that has one or more target data stores and loads data from one or more source data stores. A mapping defines any kind of business rules that will want to go through and transforming the data between the sources and targets. When you drag and drop different objects into the mapping area, it has input ports and output ports. And to link them, you will simply drag it and drop it on the port on the other objects. When you link the objects, the attributes also get linked. You can have some auto selections. For example, you can link it by name, link it by position, ignore the case, or sometimes you can create the attribute also on the target based on the source by having this option. When…
