Welcome to Oracle University's lesson on Oracle Data Integrator. I'm your host, Desiree, and let's get started. In this lesson, I'm going to show you the architecture and connectivity of Oracle Data Integrator, followed by its use cases. ODI also has this unique capability called Knowledge Modules. This is actually a pluggable architecture where there are knowledge modules of different kinds. For example, for reverse engineering, journalizing, loading from source to staging, checking constraints, transformations, integration, and data services. All these different capabilities are coded into knowledge modules, which are essentially a template for doing any of these activities. Now, these knowledge modules are extendable by the user, though if some capabilities are not covered in the knowledge modules in the ODI, they can be extended.
