Welcome to Oracle University. This is a lesson on Physical Migration of AWS RDS Oracle Database to OCI Database Cloud Service or Exadata Cloud Service. I'm your host, Dinesh. Let's get started. In this lesson, we will see the process of migration from RDS to OCI. So first, let's discuss why to move from RDS to OCI. It is the best cloud infrastructure for Oracle databases and all the Oracle database options are available. It also runs on Virtual Machine, Bare metal or Exadata Cloud Service. We'll give you the option of running real application clusters and it will provide easier hybrid deployments as well. So then, this is an outline of the migration process. First, you should prepare the AWS instance and then you should take a full backup to the local block storage. Then you copy the backup from AWS blocks storage into AWS S3. Next, you copy the backup from S3 to OCI Object storage. You can restore the non-CDB backup to a temporary instance on the DBCS/ExaCS instance. Adopt the…
