Welcome to Oracle University's lesson on Using Oracle GoldenGate for Migrations: Achieve Zero or Near Zero Downtime in Migrating or Upgrading Databases. I'm your host, Nicholas. Let's get started. In this lesson, I'm going to show you Oracle GoldenGate, its topology, options, and network requirements, followed by implementations of Zero Downtime Database upgrades. So what is OCI GoldenGate? The new OCI GoldenGate is a fully native Oracle-managed cloud service covering all real-time data integration use cases from operational to analytics data engineering solutions. The service runs on the latest GoldenGate microservices architecture, allowing for a global mesh of connected data resources with a single click. Developers and DBAs can set up the fully managed service for up to three times auto-scaling. Users pick a specified number of OCPUs when creating the service and it can auto-scale up to 24 OCPUs and a significant amount of memory and disk space. It allows users to start small and…
