- [Narrator] Authentication is the process of validating a user's identity before providing access to an application or system. For hybrid environment, authentication usually involves access to both on-premise and cloud environment. When an organization is planning to extend their directory in the cloud, they need to ensure user can sign in to both cloud and on-premise environment with one identity and password. Cloud-based system sometimes can raise additional security concerns, simply due to the fact that data is now outside the internal network of the organization.
