- [Instructor] As we're loading data into Power BI, we want to think about modeling components like table joins, connection modes, composite models, and so on. If you're an Excel Power user, you can probably connect together disparate tables into a single consolidated table view in your sleep. Within Power BI, however, we typically want to join the tables together after we load the data into the model, if we can. Let's start with the Power BI model containing dates and weather data. The weather data is the fact table connected to a SQL Server relational database table. I use the direct query connection mode here. I inputted the dates manually, so they'll load into the model in the import connectivity mode. Right now, we can load both our tables into the Power BI model because they display in regular fonts and the query lists on the left. We don't have to load all our queries into the model, however.
