From the course: Project Management: Technical Projects

What is a technical project?

(upbeat music) - A technical project is one that includes engineering elements, technical hardware components, software elements, and or data management requirements. Actually technical component management seems to be a part of almost every project. If not in the projects deliverables, it's certainly in the management and control of the project itself. And as a project management group, we don't always succeed when managing technology. Technical projects require us to focus on items, not present in other projects, new technologies emerge frequently, deploying that technology brings enhanced capabilities and introduces unique risks. The project manager and the business need to be aware and ready to respond to these challenges.
