Why, because the storyline matters and this pitch is missing the human element. The human element is the part of the story that allows the reporter to connect with what you're saying aside from the facts. Here's an example of a pitch that pulls on the heartstrings a little bit more. Hi reporter, today history was made in Santa Barbara, California. Not even native to the area, an endangered species of baby giraffe was born, with only 300 of these left in the world, this is a moment to be honored.
