- New technology is great when it works for you. Now, if you've ever used any of the voice assistants that come with your phone, or your speakers at home, you've likely become frustrated with the technology when it doesn't understand you. But voice recognition is getting better every day, and many new apps are proven useful for non-native English speakers. So let's begin with speech-to-text support. Some of you may not be aware that your computers can already translate your speech into text, and so do other programs, like Microsoft Word and Google Docs. However, all of these solutions aren't very simple or user-friendly, and they don't do a great job of understanding non-native English speech, but they are free.
