- Time for the lights. Now, I'm going to be triggering my light with a PocketWizard. If you're interested in this stuff and you haven't seen it already, watch my Basics course on this site, goes into exhaustive detail on the lights that I use, how I trigger them, how it all works. But right now, just know I've got a PocketWizard here, I got a Speedlight on a stand right here. I'm going to park it right here, just inside the door. About like that. Now the beauty of using these little video tripods as lightstands, is that they're, they're overkill for just supporting a little Speedlight like this but look at the footprint. It's that big. If I had a regular old lightstand here, the leg would come all the way out to here, it's very possible that that winds up in my shot. It's a big problem. I would never be able to have it snugged up against the wall like this so if you're using monolights and stuff, you have to have the big stands but for the Speedlights, go light, it's easy.
