- The basic methodology of Six Sigma includes a five step method approach that consists of the following. Define. Defining the project is imperative to the success of it. During the defined phase, the project is initiated, the specific problem is defined, The project's goals and scope are identified along with the customer. A clear project charter is developed based on real life problems that affect the customer. The business case is defined and benefits are determined by asking some basic questions such as, "What is wrong?" and, "What do you want to achieve?" After the process is defined, the clarity of the process should be defined. Project management should be determined during the defined phase, including the project plan, the stakeholders, the management support, and the teams.
