- [Instructor] Many medical professionals understandably focus on their patients' medical problems. But there are many good reasons to make the experience an overall positive one for patients. First off, it's good manners, and of course, insurance companies pay attention to things like patient satisfaction too. So if you're a medical professional, you probably know the CAHPS Survey. That stands for Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. It's a very common method of assessing patient experience. It was developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. That's the AHRQ here in the US. But aside from the specter of institutional assessment, there are other reasons to focus on positive patients' experience.
