- [Instructor] Wouldn't it be great if you could know what people think about your product or service without you having to first ask them? And wouldn't it be great, if you could get that information not just from your customers, but also from people who aren't yet your customers. Well, that's the idea behind sentiment analysis. Think of it as a special kind of social media monitoring study or social listening. Or more specifically, mining unstructured data like text and reviews, for feelings and evaluations of your product or service. Now, when you do this, you're going to use a lot of big data science techniques. You're going to use things like natural language processing, and text analysis, and computational linguistics. Maybe even biometrics. Now, we're not doing data science just to do it. Obviously, the gold standard is how well do two humans rate the same material in the same way?
