- [Instructor] Welcome, everyone. In this video, we are going to talk about the basics of storage space. So, what is storage space? Let's take a look. A storage space is a storage virtualization capability built in with Windows Server or Windows 10 and Windows 10 Workstation. So, what that really means is that you can create a storage space or a storage pool, basically a place to store all your data from the existing disk space that you have and you can essentially create different spaces, also known as different drives, from a existing vast pool of disk space. The first thing that a storage space has is a storage pools. A storage pool is the collection of physical disk that gets aggregated as a logical disk. So, what that really means is that let's just say you have five disks, each of which is one terabyte in size, and then you combine this five disks to one storage pool that is five terabyte in size.
