- [Narrator] Azure Site Recovery Overview. First of all, what is Azure Site Recovery? Azure Site Recovery is a product in Microsoft Azure called ASR for short. That gives you business continuity and disaster recovery capability within your Azure environment. Actually, you can go beyond Azure as you'll see, You can cover your Azure VMs for sure but you can also get VMs that are running in other clouds, physical and virtual servers in your on-premises environment. BCDR means how can you keep your workloads available in the event of a significant failure. If your workloads are already in Azure that failure might be on Microsoft side where the region goes dark. If it is on-premises workload, you might have a flood or a catastrophic power outage. So how can we keep our service online and available within the minimum or no downtime?
