🚀 Celebrating our 2023/2024 Interns! 🚀 At Basis, we believe in nurturing talent and investing in the future of our industry. Internships are not just a stepping stone for students; they are a win-win for both the interns and our organisation. Our 2023/2024 Interns Leigh Woodward, Edward Sinclair, Rebecca Pullock and Olive Huang have made a big impression during their three months with the company. From writing new test software, to transforming a test jig from around 1m long to a tiny box, to creating a database for our requirements gathering, this team has been busy! If you are considering having interns in your business I highly recommend it. As part of my continued efforts to foster growth and development, I am proud to be collaborating with the Talent Acquisition Team at May Institute to prepare for our Intern Training Weeks. This summer, we are hosting 40 interns in various roles within the organization. With my experience in training and managing interns, I know that Intern Training Week is more than just onboarding. It's a great opportunity for these interns to start building their professional network and gain valuable career insights that will benefit them throughout their internship and beyond. Here are some key points for all interns to keep in mind: - Network, Network, Network! Attend company events, use social media, and seek mentorship. Connect with professionals in your field, join relevant groups, and participate in meaningful discussions. - Engage in conversations and build connections with peers and colleagues. These relationships can lead to mentorships and collaborations that can last a lifetime. - Be proactive in offering your help and expertise. Don't hesitate to demonstrate your value to colleagues and management.  - After your internship ends, stay connected with your colleagues and mentors. Fast forward to today - and with a bit more data – the world sees at least some cuts in 2024. Feel like conventional wisdom is a puppy chasing a forecasting ball around the yard?
