I've now had a few weeks to process what an emotional and inspiring event The Design Conference was 🌟 Tuning in online, I witnessed a broad range of creative talent from around the world. One thing united all these creatives: a strong passion for their work, evident through shed tears and deeply personal stories. Creatives aren’t ones to shy away from emotion - achieving great things while bringing humour, connection and beauty to their communities. I learnt so much from the speakers, it was hard to summarise it all, but these were top points for me: 📈 Value the outcome over the output: Focus on the impact of your work. 〰️ Make problems part of the story: Problems, by nature, are messy; and we all crave simple and neat solutions. Give texture and impact to brands and solutions by making problems a part of the narrative. 🎨 Create without permission: Put yourself out there and show your work. When you home in on your craft, will pay you for what you create. 🤝 Turn idols into peers: Work until you reach the level of those you most admire. 🤓 Hustle ≠ Productivity: Busyness does not always mean effectiveness. Define what success means to you and prioritise tasks based on your goals.
