When creating an efficient #SkilledNursing clinical dashboard, the most important question to consider first is: what is the most critical data that needs to be included? Next, the end result must be considered: how will this data drive patient care decisions? The healthcare landscape continues to transition from a fee-for-service to a #ValueBasedCare model at a rapid pace. Clinical dashboards will play a crucial role in aligning care teams’ efforts to drive better outcomes under a VBC model. Thank you Skilled Nursing News for including me in your Clinical Dashboard series!
#ClinicalDashboards are critical for driving patient care decisions. With a rapidly changing payment landscape and huge strides being made in technology advancements, there are important aspects to consider when creating an ideal clinical dashboard for today’s healthcare providers. Our SVP and GM of Emerging Markets, Travis Palmquist, recently shared his thoughts on which data is most important for a #SkilledNursing clinical dashboard to drive optimal results. With a background on the provider side and nearly a decade of experience working in the #LTPAC space, Travis offers a unique perspective on the intersection of healthcare and technology. “Embracing technology to streamline care transitions will be a win/win for providers and patients. Taking friction out of the healthcare environment in 2024 will allow us to streamline care and reduce administrative burdens for all clinical staff, not just doctors. As the industry embraces value-based care, we need to consider all of the ways that technology can help organizations be successful in these value-based care arrangements. In 2024 we will see more organizations embracing customized technology (AI, language models) to curate personalized insights and drive risk models. This will in turn result in more accurate care and enhanced efficiencies on the provider side.” - B.J. Boyle, Chief Product Officer, PointClickCare. Improving Care Navigation by deploying highly empathetic humans that are empowered with modern tech efficiency
Physician’s Biggest Challenges Survey In reading this article, I don’t think anyone will be surprised that Administrative Work, including EHR reporting burdens, billing and coding requirements and collections, are the top challenges listed for physicians. Staffing shortages and turnover just exacerbate that problem. The above mentioned cover 50% of the top concerns. Another nearly 30% of concerns are around losing patients to competition (patient satisfaction is key). With the technology available today a combined 80% of the physicians top challenges can be easily solved. Unfortunately, fully automating administrative burden from physicians and their staff (improve job satisfaction and they will stay) can mean costly integrations that will add more burden and likely months of distractions. Trying to hire front line staff can address some of these issues, but hiring, training and managing a large enough team to provide support to ALL of your patients (not just the highest risk/most needy) is not an economical or efficient solution. Deploying a hybrid model utilizing a tech first outreach to ALL, but having the ability to escalate cases to an empathetic human when additional coordination is needed has been highly successful for many of Rely Health’s hospitals, physician groups, and value based care programs. Having a proven and successful solution to address this whirlwind of challenges without adding additional tech integration or staffing burden is exactly why I am excited to join Rely Health. https://lnkd.in/etSTTx9E #carenavigation #hospitals #physicians #clinicianburnout #valuebasedcare #patientexperience #patientsatisfaction #patientcentriccare #physician #practicemanagement

Clinician burnout is one of the biggest challenges faced by the healthcare system today and impacts the entire workflow, all the way down to the patient experience. Clinicians are spending significantly less time with their patients – only 15%-30% of hospital ICU providers’ time is spent with the patient, according to recent research. Instead, they are spending the majority of their time doing paperwork. This article does a great job outlining how AI can help reduce the administrative burden and free up clinicians’ time so they can dedicate more of their time to engaging with their patients. #cliniciansburnout #healthcare #aiinhealthcare
