I Teach Self-Storage Ops : Elevating Self-Storage Operations Through Collaboration and Innovation | Liberty Investment Properties
There's a need for a DMM If you're running remote, unmanned, or virtual self-storage operations, you might need a District Manager of Maintenance. For years, District Managers have been the way, and it's a structure that most have adopted for large portfolios. But just like store managers their role has evolved. With today's technology, District Managers should be able to do so much more. But their time is finite. One necessary drag that pulls their attention is physical site visits. Of course, they should still visit sites, but unnecessary windshield time kills high-level oversight, especially if no one is there to meet with them. The highest and best use of their time isn't jumping from site to site. So let's get them some help. Maybe it's time we design a role for a District Manager of Maintenance. A specialized role whose only job is quality control.

🔍Discover our secrets… 🕵️♂️ Discover the secrets of #SECOWARWICK specialists; meet Scott R. Westfall Jr., Field Service Tech in Texas, USA. 📅 Length of employment in the company: 7 months. 🎯 The aim of my work is: I am responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing new components, and equipment, as well as advising customers about issues that could result in production downtime. 💼My biggest professional challenge so far is: Learning about different types of equipment is not just the mechanical part of the job; it's also the technical aspect. I need to stop overthinking what I'm doing, and focus on fixing it. 🧠The biggest lesson I’ve learned from my job: I take every situation and learn from it. My worst experience was being left alone on a job with nothing more than phone support. It was very nerve-wracking and frustrating. I learned to stop, breathe, take a break, walk away, relax, and get back at it without overthinking the job. Over time, things came together, and the issues started to resolve themselves, allowing us to deal with them effectively. In the end, we emerged victorious. 🔧In my opinion, to find oneself in this role, one should be/need to like…: I find myself in this role, and it's worth being in. I've been in maintenance for almost 40 years, serving as a lead, a supervisor, overseeing departments, and managing jobs and projects. I can't see myself doing anything else—I love my job too much; unless, of course, I retire and make cheesecake while traveling. #WorkLike #TogetherWeGainAdvantages
