According to a report in the Centre Daily Times, many townships and communities across Pennsylvania don’t have a dedicated funding stream for EMS services.

🚨 New UK Drink-Drive Figures: A Call to Action 🚨 Today, the Department for Transport (DfT) revealed that the number of people killed in drink-drive collisions reached a 13-year high in 2022. Between 290 and 320 lives were tragically lost, with a central estimate of 300 fatalities. This is the highest figure since 2009 and marks a significant increase from 2021, when there were 260 fatalities. Equally alarming, drink-drive incidents accounted for 18% of all road deaths in 2022 – a percentage unchanged since 1987, described by the RAC as “abhorrent.” Additionally, the number of people killed or seriously injured in these collisions rose to an estimated 1,920, a 3% increase from 2021. Overall, 6,800 individuals were killed or injured due to drink-driving, up by 1% from the previous year. #RedCross has great resources for learning what to do in different emergencies. #Burns happen every year especially around the holidays. Three things to know about taking care of a burn. 1. How big is it? If a burn is bigger than the palm of the person who is burned they need to go to the hospital 2. How deep is it? If you can see black or parts that should not be seen on the outside go to the hospital 3. How old are they? Young children and older people are more suseptible to dehydration and infection and should have any large surface area burns evaluated by a doctor at the hospital.
