Spent the past month in South Africa’s Eastern & Western Cape in pursuit of Great White Sharks, yet was only lucky enough to have a single close encounter. Strange & sad times in South Africa which used to be the Great White Sharkiest place on Earth, yet now you can barely find one. I know everyone (and your mom) have already read the headlines about the sharks testing positive for cocaine in Brazil… No surprise here, of course they did, sharks also test positive for toxic heavy metals like mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium, PCBs, and all the f*cked up pollutants pumped into the oceans by us humans... but yeah, narcotics are always a good way to get attention, so special thanks to the research team & scientists for being media-smart & savvy in their research that hopefully will bring more genuine attention to the true plight of our oceans & its apex predators... ❄️🦈❄️ #cocainesharks #abc4explore

Do You Breathe Oxygen? If you do, you should truly care about the health & protection of our Oceans & its Guardians, SHARKS… Because the majority of oxygen we breathe on Earth comes from our Oceans…. 🫶🦈🫶 I post this shot every year and I know it’s distressing & disheartening… but I’ll never stop fighting for sharks and their survival & coexistence with humankind. The truth is, without humans on their side, sharks have no chance of survival. And without sharks, our oceans & humankind will not survive. Collectively we have lost our sense of compassion & connectivity to nature, functioning purely as insatiable predators, striving to conquer, kill & consume everything in our path.
