As I stated in a previous post where Greg Norman won £70,000 for his victory at Trump Turnberry in The Open 1986 - The winners checks should return to a normal level so the The R&A can spend more globally promoting the game as they are charged to do - same goes for the United States Golf Association (USGA) & PGAs. It is not any way in their remit to pay pros generational wealth in a single check. I keep hearing the from the pros themselves that they are playing for legacy and trophies not money - The for profits (PGA TOUR, DP World Tour, Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA)) & others that self-fund (LIV Golf, Masters) may increase the purses as much as they like and sponsors will support - but the organizations that grow the game from grass roots support so that the leaderboards are full of flags from around the world should have the support of the professionals to cap the purses - The prestige of the Major shouldn't be contingent of the amount of the winners check. As Martin Slumbers bravely brought attention to the fact the escalation of purses on Golf's most important organizations is unsustainable. In addition, a reduction in the overall men's purse would, like tennis, hopefully allow equal men's and women's payouts in the majors hosted by those organizations as they support both. What You Didn’t Know About Augusta National Golf Club? (The US Masters, April 11-14, 2024) Cheapest tickets for each of the three practice rounds are going for just over $1,200 with individual day tournament passes starting between $2,000 and $2,500. The 4-Day pass gets you access to all four of the tournament rounds. Membership is strictly by invitation: there is no application process. In 2004, USA Today published a list of all the current members. Membership is believed to cost between $100,000 and $300,000 and annual dues were estimated in 2020 to be less than $30,000 per year. Masters tickets are considered the second-hardest to obtain in sports, trailing only the Super Bowl. Tickets — or badges — are cheap if you are lucky enough to be a patron or win the annual lottery which opened on June 1. If you don't get tickets directly from Augusta National, be prepared to spend thousands. Augusta National Golf Club is a private club and is only accessible to club members and their guests. The public may visit the course only during the Masters Tournament and only with the proper ticket or badge.

Science Technology Engineering, Arts, Math. It is so critically important to underline, highlight, and bold how important the arts are in our digital now. I'm a technologist. I love technology and what it does to help people. And I'll straight up tell you the most important courses I took during college had to do with ethics, philosophy, critical thinking, and communication. Why? Because these weren't adjacent or interest-driven skills to the core competencies I had around tech. I had little motivation to learn them because I didn't know anything about them. I'll straight up tell you that understanding these concepts has made me a significantly better technologist than if I had just stayed in my lane.
