Hey Fellas. It’s Men’s Health Week again, and we’re just checking in on you. In fact, this year’s theme is Men’s Health Checks. We know that men are sometimes pressured to ‘suck it up’ and be the stoic one but deep down, Men have feelings too. Men are also less likely to seek healthcare, especially mental healthcare. 1 in 2 men will experience a mental health disorder in their lifetime.* Despite this, around 40% of health conditions and early deaths among Australian men can be prevented by healthier habits.** This is an opportunity to think about what it means to be a man... let’s challenge the stereotype, avoid bottling it up and support healthy expressions of emotion. Checking in with each other is a great start. Be sure to get your checkups and check in with yourself! We provide a low-key and confidential space to have a chat. Mental Health Awareness month for men so a great time to share these 5 inspirational quotes. It is extremely difficult to pick a favourite but we probably just edge towards Confucius. Which is yours??? 1. “Failure is another stepping stone to greatness." ― Oprah Winfrey 2. “I can accept failure. Everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying." ― Michael Jordan 3. “Failure is a part of the process. You just learn to pick yourself back up." ― Michelle Obama 4. “ Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail." ― Confucius 5. Children have a lesson adults should learn, to not be ashamed of failing, but to get up and try again. Most of us adults are so afraid, so cautious, so 'safe,' and therefore so shrinking and rigid and afraid that it is why so many humans fail. Most middle-aged adults have resigned themselves to failure." ― Malcolm X

Hey there, health-conscious friends! Let's talk about something that's incredibly important but often gets pushed to the back burner: When was the last time you had a physical checkup with your healthcare provider? It's time to shine a spotlight on the significance of regular health checkups. Why are physical checkups vital? 1. Prevention is key: Be your own superhero to fight off trouble before it starts. Regular checkups can catch potential health issues early. 2. Stay informed: A physical helps you understand your current health status and numbers. Knowledge is power. Make informed decisions on your health. 3️. Build a relationship: When your healthcare provider knows you, your history and needs, it is easier to tailor your unique care. 4. Mental health matters: Physical checkups include care for your mind too. Discussing your mental health with a professional provides support to maintain a healthy mental state. 5. Set an example: Taking care of your health sets a fantastic example for your loved ones. Show them health is an investment in your future. Now, let's turn the spotlight to you! When was the last time you had a checkup, and what motivated you to do it? Share your experiences, stories, and tips. Let's inspire each other to prioritize our health and well-being!
