Stepping into the driver's seat for our lean team while our founders are knee-deep in the hustle has been a journey of grit and growth. The golden rule I swear by? Always overdeliver – give 2x of what you get paid. Welcoming new interns into this dynamic space isn't just a task; it's a chance to build trust, the heartbeat of our team. Mentorship, for me, means more than just assigning duties; it's about creating a tight-knit crew driven by loyalty. In the lean hustle, every effort counts double. So, I've made it a mission to not just meet expectations but to blow them out of the water. Let's keep that innovation flame burning, even when resources are scarce! Thank you so much for believing in me and pushing me out of my comfort zone to achieve more Anurav Dave Nikhil Kalwani Maan Jetley LUZO | Backed by 100X.VC 🚀 #LeanTeamInsights #Overdeliver #TeamTrust #InnovatePersistently

I saw the movie : “The Intern” for the second time on a recent flight. Once again it struck a chord and left me deep in reflection. I felt that it beautifully highlights the intersection of technological progress, senior employment, and generational differences. De Niro’s character, a 70-year-old widower, becomes an intern at an e-commerce fashion startup led by Hathaway’s character. Their evolving dynamic offers profound insights into the value of experience, adaptability, and merging traditional and modern business approaches. Here are some key takeaways that resonated with me: 🔸1. Going fast and slow: De Niro’s character is first shunned, and then valued for his experience and composure. Anne’s CEO character wants to move fast and break things. The contrast created friction and then synergy after. 🔸2. Never forget the generation before: The film showcases how different generations can learn from each other. We can learn from our parents, grandparents and even ancestors who paved the way for the future we know today. 🔸3. Adaptability is Key: Hathaway’s character, a young entrepreneur, learns to appreciate traditional values while also imparting modern business practices. This mutual respect and learning is crucial in today’s evolving workplace. 🔸4. Value and purpose underpin all success: To do great things, we need talented people that have their values aligned. Only then can we accomplish big dreams over a long time. Both characters find purpose in their work, also showing employment can offer fulfilment beyond financial gain. I’ve always believed in inclusion, diversity and collaboration to fulfil big ambitions. And we continue to apply it in all companies within Robusta Technology Group (RTG). I’ve benefitted so much from a lot of the original titans in tech. Though some of them have semi-retired or gone onto other endeavours, Their wisdom still stays with me. At the pace of innovation in AI, commerce and the like, it’s easy to lose track of the fundamentals. That’s the importance of mentors and bouncing off other thinkers. Next time you’re looking for something inspiring yet entertaining, give “The Intern” a watch. I’d recommend it for any business leader.

In 2020 I took one of the biggest decisions i've ever made. Looking back, it completely changed my trajectory in life. Below are 3 lessons i've learned from this journey. Before that, some context: What happened? I moved to London from my hometown Copenhagen for an internship opportunity at Nova Founders Capital. 4 days after getting it, I packed all my belongings, took the plane to London and didn't look back. Leaving family, friends, education and my childhood neighbourhood behind. Basically saying bye to all that I was comfortable with, stepping into the unknown with the ambition of realising my dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. I remember my arrival in the evening around 8 pm, as I got asked to head straight to the new office to get my onboarding immediately and be ready for the next day. Being pushed straight into things i've never done before. And btw - things I felt completely unqualified to do. (imposter syndrome) Full of ambition, energy and ready to absorb the learnings of my colleagues who were already way ahead of me, I pushed for 16-hour days to keep up. (later realising hourly input is not the only way to increase output😅). The rest is history and 4,5 years later I now run my own company with some incredibly talented people (you know who you are!). P.S - we're hiring now! I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to move to London, be surrounded by some of the smartest people I know and created tangible value for multiple small and big companies. Here's 3 things I'd go back and tell myself at that age and point in time. 1) Pull the trigger on every opportunity you get if it's aligned to your vision. But don't always expect the move to make sense logically. 2) Seek out people who are much smarter than you are, don't be too self-sufficient and put aside the ego. Those people might just have the answers that will move you to the next level. 3) Don't be afraid to put in stupid amounts of hours in the beginning. (that's how you get ahead). When you've learned how to work hard, then go and learn how to be efficient.

The best advice I can give is that downturns are the opportunity to really define who you are and what you stand for... also start your own LLC... like now... have you done it yet? This is the advice I gave today when speaking with one of many students and recent grads I've been meeting with to hear their stories and offer my support. Did I mention there's an #internshipshortage that is plaguing our students? Well, this week has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs for me as well. We are growing our team and I am so excited for that. But we also missed 2 opportunities this week - one of which I thought was in the bag. It's okay though, with that comes opportunity to reflect and refine what we're doing. Also, those really weren't the most beneficial for us in hindsight - money is not just money when it comes to raising. So, yesterday, I crafted some roles and responsibilities for the new team, sent some follow ups and opportunities that had been sitting, and reworked our pitch deck. The deck is a happy enhancement that came out of a disappointing event. Check out our new overview slide. I think it's pretty cool. #internshipshortage #founderlife #saas #techforgood

🌟 Weekly Insights from Notable Capital's Keynote Speaker Events 🌟 Every week, Notable Capital organizes a keynote speaker event for us as a part of the NextGen Fellowship program. It's an incredible opportunity to meet influential people one-on-one, ask questions, and gain insights on topics that help us grow as interns, entrepreneurs, and individuals. This program organized by Christina Pasanen is fantastic, and I'm excited to start sharing a weekly summary to retrieve and share my knowledge. Last week, we had the privilege of meeting Charlene Lee, a learning & development leader who teaches professional skills to managers and early-career employees worldwide. Charlene's presentation focused on essential skills for succeeding in internships and building a career. She shared her extensive career journey, from her time at Google working on Google Maps and leading the international expansion of Google Pay to her role at a Series B startup, and her current venture as the founder of a training company. Key takeaways from Charlene's session: 1. Building Trust: Charlene highlighted the importance of trust in the workplace and introduced an equation for building trust: Reliability + Credibility + Connection - Self-interest, emphasizing their role in effective collaboration and communication. 2. Understanding Working Styles: She introduced a tool developed by Deloitte to assess different working styles and encouraged us to create a user manual for our working styles. 3. Performance Evaluation: The session included a detailed evaluation of three interns' performance, discussing their strengths and areas for improvement. This exercise provided valuable insights into prioritizing tasks, contributing to team meetings, and presenting data. 4. Managing Changes: Charlene discussed strategies to ensure timely feature delivery and team alignment amidst unexpected changes, such as a designer switching teams. Suggestions included having a contingency plan, aligning with the manager, and managing stakeholder expectations. I'm looking forward to sharing more insights from these inspiring events in the coming weeks, thank you for your time Charlene Lee! Stay tuned! 🚀✨ #Growth #CareerDevelopment #NotableCapital #InternshipJourney

What a year! The image is a great summary of the world that was in 2023. For SSP, we reshaped the business in response to the changing landscape, always seeking to skate to where the puck will be (highly displaced seasonal, cultural and geographical reference - thanks Gretzky..) We welcome new team members who are all equally passionate about 'leaving the place better than we found it': Tomas Moxey joins as our Operations Analyst, following on from Jack Doyle who finished his internship and is completing his Law degree in the UK. Tomas has brought 'instant heat' through his insatiable curiosity and bias to action. Loren Hannon brings a wealth of experience in understanding and unwinding the complexity between economics and people, having managed large hospitality venues through her university years. It was bittersweet having Conor Sutherland advance his promising career, stepping into an amazing role at Tractor Ventures. Loren has stepped up incredibly quickly as our Investment Analyst, also with a bright future in whichever path she chooses. Recognising the need for consistent execution with grace Kylie Rudh was recruited as our Executive Officer. This new position provides the necessary pathway between intent and outcome. Kylie has rapidly gained the trust of our stakeholders as she backs up our Partners and ensures execution, order and clarity. Seeing an unmet need in the market, we established buildSmartt - an 'in-house startup'. We are overjoyed to announce Natalie Moffat as the first operational executive and co-Founder for the business. Natalie has a proven track record in establishing successful businesses, with a 'PhD in GSD'. buildSmartt has a huge year of growth and impact ahead. We are particularly honoured to welcome Jim Preketes as Partner. Jim has an immense amount of experience in all aspects of business, partnerships and operational excellence. Jim joins at a time where consistent execution is paramount. His proven ability to coach, mentor and shape businesses speaks for itself. Youth and vitality enhanced with age and experience, rallying around our overlapping themes of 'Sustain and Protect' and 'Improve and Advance'. Bring it on. In terms of 2023, our achievements surface through outcomes and the impact of our firm and our people, measured by the achievements of our constituents. That is not our story to tell. #theangelsangel #ikigai
