Insightful interview of Nicole Pullen Ross, Head of Sports and Entertainment Solutions at Goldman Sachs, in CNBC's ‘Squawk on the Street’. Explaining the rise of institutional investment in sports, including the growing interest in investing in women’s sports. Extract on women's football in the US: "If you look at media rights, which is the hallmark of how valuations are formed and how investors think about growth, it’s pretty extraordinary... For example, the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) recently signed a $240 million deal over 4 years, which was more than 40x their prior deal. The trend is following the enthusiasm in women’s sports.” As a reminder, Goldman Sachs announced last September that they were establishing a sports mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and sports financing division which will work on: ➡️ Teams, stadiums, and leagues ➡️ Sports media, entertainment, and technology properties

The more critical thing to scrutenize is viewership, media rights growth is great, but there are factors that can lead to unsustainable growth periods in media rights, if viewership is truly growing, thats about as bullish a sign as exists.
