Touching on the urban side, #circulareconomy and #wastemanagement are also big issues in Indonesia. Those five areas pose exciting opportunities that we see in the climate industry right now,” said Avina Sugiarto, Member of ASEAN-BAC Sustainable Development priority program and Legacy Member of ASEAN Carbon Centre of Excellence (ASEAN-BAC Indonesia 2023), at the recent Net-Zero Panel with PwC Indonesia, 14 August 2023. In this current market in Indonesia, Avina thinks that more #innovations are needed. Thanks to ANGIN for including me in this space. Since Sustainability is a very broad discipline, I would not call myself an expert, but rather, an advocate for sustainability efforts in everything that we do. Let's connect and discuss ideas! PS: My wife Meutia Chaerani is the one who led me into the mindset of sustainability. #indonesia #sustainability

The trend of impact investing is increasing globally, including in Indonesia. This business model is not only about seeking profits but also simultaneously creating a positive impact on society and the environment. Based on the Investing in Women report, Indonesia has the most active market for impact investing in the South East Asia region in terms of the number of impact deals, with USD 1.44 billion invested through 131 impact deals in 2020-2022. This reflects the increasing significance and acknowledgment of impact investing in the country's efforts to drive positive change and sustainable development. In the effort to achieve Indonesia's development in the future, Shinta Kamdani, as the CEO of Sintesa Group, also implements the concept of impact investing in the company. As a strategic investment holding company committed to becoming a Sustainable Excellence Company, Sintesa Group implements impact investing through the business models of Sintesa Health, Sintesa Energy, and Sintesa Ecotourism. We believe our investments have to be established with the intention to generate positive as well as measurable financial, social, and environmental impact. This helps our company to achieve our strategic goals and provides the capital needed to address the world’s most pressing challenges, aligned with our business portfolios, especially the renewable energy, health, and nature conservation line. This is part of the strategic action outlined in the SDGs Roadmap: Sintesa for Earth and Sintesa Group's contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia. #SintesaGroup #SintesaForTheEarth #impactinvesting #investment #sustainabledevelopment #sustainability #sdgs

Shaping Indonesia's future, AC Ventures (ACV) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have unveiled a groundbreaking report on the nation's decarbonization sector, shedding light on its transformative role in fostering 'green growth.' With Indonesia standing as a significant global greenhouse gas emitter, the report underscores its susceptibility to climate risks. Notably, startups and MSMEs, including Unravel Carbon (YC W22) and MAKA Motors, are positioned to steer this shift, while entities like Fairatmos nurture a domestic carbon credit ecosystem. Amidst talent shortages, Indonesia's National Talent Management and initiatives by the Indonesian Financial Services Authority and central bank are pivotal in driving sustainable progress.
