By starting local and small scale and gradually moving up, hydrogen trade corridors can be developed and expanded, Isabelle Capaldi-Lureau, Global Lead Originator - H2 and Derivatives, TotalEnergies, said in the ADIPEC 2023 Hydrogen Strategic Conference titled ‘Unlocking hydrogen trade corridors to meet decarbonisation targets’. “When we talk about trade corridors...I think we all agree [that the objective] is local and it's because of our refinery’s local usage that [we] start to do local. We have some projects within TotalEnergy to [use] our electrolyser. It is not a pilot, it is not very big but [does provide] hundreds of megawatts extra to projects. So, we start to be kind of sizable. Moving to a larger scale, we can do it by 2030. At the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition in Rotterdam, Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) signed an MoU with the Rotterdam Foundation to advance the green economy. This agreement aims to enhance seaport efficiency through technical expertise and joint training programs.
